The CEO at my place handed down a rule after something like that saying "No cooking fish in the microwave".

A few months later, we came back from lunch, and smelled fish. Turns out one of the tech support guys (Sorry, Clem, but this is another example of the special people that work here) cooked his fish in the microwave. His justification was "Well, I wasn't cooking it... This is leftovers I brought in, so I was just re-heating it."
